During this event, join literary scholar and writer Paula Marantz Cohen for a conversation about empathy, the outsider, and the precarity of aging in Shakespeare’s writings.
Over the course of this lecture, participants will gain a stronger understanding of how empathy works in Shakespeare – his morally complex, multi-dimensional characters – and the precarity of the outsider in western culture, from Shakespeare’s time through the present day.
