Streb: Extreme Action Lab

Streb Extreme Action is a visionary dance company founded by choreographer and MacArthur “Genius” Award winner, Elizabeth Streb. Combing modern dance and gravity defying acrobatics, Streb has been testing the potential of the human body since her company began in 1985.   She believes in human flight and lives by the edict that “anything too safe is not action.”
Streb Extreme Action tours nationally and around the world and has recently performed at the Musée D’Orsay in Paris, Greece’s Summer Nostos Festival, Lincoln Center Festival, and the Park Avenue Armory. The company has received commissions to perform publicly at the 2012 London Olympic Festival and the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, as well as the 2004 Cirque du Soleil 20th anniversary celebration performed in front of 250,000 people on the streets of Montreal, Quebec.

Streb Lab for Action Mechanics, also known as SLAM, is their studio in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. It is home to action for participants of all ages, a performance venue, and a school that is open all year round. At SLAM, you can learn how to become an “action hero”, starting at the early age of three or as an adult. SLAM offers acrobatics, pop action, parKour, trapeze, and silks to name a few!

Take a trip to Williamsburg, Brooklyn to experience all that SLAM has to offer or experience LIVE!
