The National Museum for Women in the Arts
The National Museum of Women in the Arts is the only museum in the world dedicated to championing women through the arts. It was founded in 1981 in Washington, D.C.
The museum’s mission is to inspire discussions about women’s art and ideas through its collections and programs. The NMWA seeks social change in women’s art and better representation for women artists. The museum focusses on promoting important women artists of the past and present.
